Biden Breast Health Initiative
The Gritty: Another example of how freelancing works, this is a client we connected with through another client, and while I did the designing and coding on the West Coast, my business partner Cindy handled the content and imagery with the client face-to-face on the East Coast. Perfect!
Being very excited to work not only on the project site for the future Second Lady, the organization is doing a great thing in Delaware. From their site: "The BBHI was formed in the early 1990s after Jill Biden had several friends diagnosed with breast cancer. She realized that too often, breast self-examination (BSE) was not considered important for young women, as breast cancer was thought to be an older woman's disease. As an educator of high school and college age students, Jill decided to do something about it, and gathered breast cancer survivors, community leaders, and medical professionals together to help her provide crucial information to female students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grades."
Working within a specific timeframe and budget, we worked quickly to re-organize the information and expand their already existing branding elements into a website to meet their deadline of the then Senator Joe Biden being on a local morning television talk show and plugging the site. Well, suffice it to say, we got the site up and running in no time, with important facts, links, donation information, etc. All in perfect XHTML/CSS.
